The Network of
enlightened Women (NeW) NeW Gentlemen's Showcase Chivalry is not dead. It’s just hiding. The Gentlemen’s Showcase seeks to restore dignity and respect between the sexes. Beginning in the 1970s, women were told they should never let a man pay for their dinner or open their car door because by so doing, they were giving up their independence as women. This demise of chivalry doesn’t promote equality between the sexes. Rather, it breeds mutual disrespect. But the women of NeW believe that gentlemen still exist on the college campus, and we want to honor those who stand against cultural norms.
Do you know a gentleman? Say thanks by nominating him for NeW’s Gentlemen’s Showcase. Submit a short video explaining why your college man deserves the title of “gentleman.” Go to NeW’s Facebook Fan Page and post your video under the “Video” tab. The video can show him in action or you can explain why he is such a great guy. The top gentleman whose video receives the most votes will win a steak dinner for two. The woman who nominated him will receive a NeW T-Shirt and Sommers’ book Who Stole Feminism?. Rules: 1) The gentleman must be a current college student, undergraduate or graduate.
